Bishops Alfa Romeo

I bought a new Alfa Romeo Mito just over a year ago, but very recently my gearbox failed & Bishops advised that the gearbox was "shredded" due to a munufacturing fault. They advised that they would replace the gearbox as it was under warranty. I asked for a courtesy car, as I needed to get to and from work, and they confirmed they would do this. However, when my car was ready to pick up, imagine my surprise when I was told I would have to pay for the "insurance" on my "courtesy car" which amounted to £15 per day...£210 for a fortnight!! I argued that as it was a manufacturers error, I had therefore been sold a faulty vehicle, and how could they possibly charge me for this. I was told I had to pay before I could take my car! I did so, but complained in writing to the Service Manager...that was 2 weeks ao, and despite a number of chaser emails in these 2 weeks, unsurprisingly there has been no response. I must say that the Customer Service at Bishops is virtually non-existent. As a customer you are made to feel that once you have paid for your new car, anything that follows has nothing to do with them...they will only reluctantly help if you push them. I am now looking to make a complaint to Alfa Romeo directly, as I am not holding my breath for a response from Bishops.
