New Toyota Auris SR and TR
Following on from the flagship Auris SR180, Toyota is launching new SR models to the Auris range powered by the 1.6 Dual VVT-i petrol and 2.0 D-4D 130 diesel engines. Toyota says the SR range will put the Auris into the "mild sports" market, which accounts for a third of UK new car sales in the C-segment. The SR benefits from lowered sports suspension and 17-inch wheels from Toyota Motorsport. They also get tinted privacy glass and rear spoiler, nine airbags, climate control air conditioning, leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, front fog lamps, six-speaker sound system and body colour-matched door handles and mirrors. The SR is available from £14,495, just £690 more than the equivalent T3 model, despite over £1400 extra equipment.
Toyota has also revised it's Auris TR models. They will now come with automatic dual zone air conditioning and a new look which includes a set of lean and smart five-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels, distinctive blue interior seat trim and chrome rear trim detailing. Like the SR it also comes with nine airbags, front fog lamps, leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, six-speaker sound system and body colour-matched door handles and mirrors. The TR models cost £310 less than equivalent T3 models and is available with 1.4 and 1.6 VVT-i petrol and 2.0 D.-4D 130 diesel engines.
