After booking in my vehicle for the advertised ‘all makes and models’ mot and of £35 and £89 respectively i picked up my car (which passed its MOT) to be found to have been charged over double the advertised price without my knowledge or consent. When a complaint was raised i was told i was wrong to assume the advertised rate is what i would recieve and the company stood by their member of staff who claims she told me verbally over the phone that this would be case. No such effort was made and no proof could be provided by the company (as this is not what was asked for - i had no knowledge of any other price or agreement). The advertisement doesn’t say ‘from’ 35 and 89 - it simply states all makes and models 35 and 89 respectively. I am disgusted and have now made reports to trading standards, action fraud and my bank after the company has chosen not to reimburse the wrongfully taken funds and has offered me no apology - even going so far as to ignore my further correspondance. I believe this is a scam and had i been elderly or vulnerable in any way i could have been led to believe that i’d forgotten that an alternative price and service was agreed however, i’m not and i haven’t so i can’t stand by and let it happen to others.
