MG's current and upcoming electric car line-up

MG entered the electric car market in 2019 with the ZS EV, striking a balance between affordability and capability. This move attracted many buyers looking for a practical and accessible entry into electric vehicles (EVs).

Since then, MG has expanded its line-up with the budget-friendly MG5 EV estate and the MG4 EV hatchback, offering more options to customers and boosting sales. The company plans to introduce more electric models, including a two-seat sports car, aiming to transition to an all-electric line-up by 2027.

MG's current electric cars in the UK

MG ZS

The MG ZS EV, launched in July 2019, was MG's first electric vehicle. It combined affordability, performance, and good equipment, making it a popular choice.

A recent update added refreshed styling and a larger battery pack option. The standard 51.1kWh battery offers around 198 miles of range, while the larger 72.6kWh pack can go up to 273 miles.

The ZS EV’s five-star Euro NCAP rating and seven-year warranty make it a strong contender against models like the Nissan Leaf and Hyundai Kona.

MG4

Debuting in 2022, the MG4 is MG's third electric car.

This distinctive electric hatchback offers excellent value for money with plenty of features and a great range. The long-range model can cover up to 281 miles on a single charge, making it a practical choice for many.

Its significantly lower price compared to rivals like the Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID.3 makes it an attractive option.

MG5

The MG5 is one of the few all-electric estate cars available, offering improved practicality over some hatchback rivals. It provides ample equipment, a pleasant driving experience, and a good range for an affordable price.

A recent update has modernised its exterior and interior a with a claimed range of up to 250 miles, the MG5 is a solid choice for those seeking an affordable and practical electric car, especially if the newer MG4 doesn’t appeal.
