I recently had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Gerry Doverman Ltd. My encounter with this garage has left me with serious concerns about their business practices and transparency.
Price Gouging on Injector Replacement:
Two years ago, I had two injectors replaced for a total of £250. Yesterday, they replaced a single injector and billed me £670. While I understand that prices can increase over time, this drastic jump seems unreasonable and unjustified. When I inquired about the increase, they simply stated that prices have gone up but provided no detailed breakdown or justification. This lack of transparency is unacceptable.
Lack of Invoice and Poor Communication:
Despite multiple requests, I was not provided with a detailed invoice. Instead, I was told to pay the bill without any clear explanation of the charges. Whenever I questioned the bill, their staff became defensive and unhelpful. Transparent communication is crucial for customer trust, and their evasiveness raises serious doubts about their honesty.
Previous Overcharge for Washer Fluid:
On a previous visit, they charged me £20 for washer fluid, which they did not actually add to my vehicle. This incident alone should have been a red flag, but unfortunately, I returned due to their specialized Mercedes-Benz software. This kind of dishonest practice further undermines their credibility.
Excessive Diagnostic Fee:
They charged me £150 for a diagnostic test, which involved merely plugging in a computer for ten minutes. This fee is exorbitantly high for such a simple procedure and reflects poorly on their pricing policies. Diagnostic tests are routine and should not come with such a steep price tag.
